java training ???
I have been reading "Just Java 2" and it seems to be a good book - I am more interested in a CBT type of learning - probably geared more towards using netbeans. (I know -I know- learn from the command line first).

Firt of all - I am not looking for this to be a profession - just a very good means to an end - I am tired of using microsoft access for custom database applications and want to utilized java. Netbeans offers a lot for someone like me !!!

Back to the topic at hand - can anyone reccommend a training course that will help me get up to speed (quickly) in using netbeans to build database applications?

Many community colleges are now offering programming courses online. I've taken Java, C, and two C++ courses this way. Also, check with your employer to see if they have a partnership with any online training company. For example, at my last job, I took a lot of online courses through DigitalThink and Thompson/NetG.
