BJP(NDA) or Congress or third front
whom do you think is going to win this election, I think BJP as congress top leaders are lacking leadership qualities.
Anyway whom do you vote and support and why ?

Yes,chances of winning BJP coalition front are much more bcos of 'Feel Good' factor.Congress,Left,JD leaders have done nothing but to attend marriages of sons and daughters of BJP's leaders.Advani is keen to bcome next PM.He is now starting some Yatra across India.Problem with this yatra is he has to create 'Feel bad' factor in some states where BJP-coalition is not in power!!For example in Andhra Pradesh, although there are many suicides by farmers,BJP has to create 'feel good' factor as TDP is with BJP!!People are enjoying the cold war between Vajpayee group and Advani group.

EC is toying with the idea of having a
1. "None of the above" choice.
2. Declaring the CTC[cost to country as in unpaid bills, rents etc] of a politician who stands for elections.

if implemented it could really would help in cleaning up politics in india.
the following advantages come to mind immediately.
1. Onus is on parties to select better candidates as now all the candidates can be rejected.
2. The candidates who stand for elections cannot win unopposed as in somecases where a candidate would brow beat all his opposition to stand down in his/her favour. Now even if he/she does that he/she may still lose.
so a candidate will win only if he is acceptable to the people.
3. Do away with the TINA[There is no alternative] factor.
4. A candidate will not be able to take his constituency for granted and will need to nurtue it through out the term instead of the just the tours made during elections.
5. I will get a choice to vote for. uptill now i really didnt have any column/ button to press on the ballot/EVM. now i know atleast my standing in line wont go waste.

Now Congress is started recruting film stars. Good time for film stars. Lot of jobs for them. We should bring a law against film stars joining politics.

Thats a brilliant idea, IMHO. Candidates will think twice betting their money on elections, None of the Above votes would take away their vote share for getting the election fee back. How much is it these days? Rs 35,000/- is it? Also we wouldnt have situations like ballet book with many pages instead of a ballet sheet.
Another suggestion I would like to see implemented would be that every candidate should declare his or her total assets and Election Commission officials should verify it prior to accepting their candidature Also, finding of the Election Commission, should be more than an audit they should compile a life history of the person in question, and make it available to the general public during the run up to the election, so that they can really select the appropriate person for the job.
Just my tuppence!

It should not be a problem for politicians! Most of the time they are poor with very less income but their closed relatives are surprisingly rich!!.There are escapes to these kind of laws for declaring assets[Thats why the breed ,attorneys and lawyers exist). For example Pramod Mahajan's income was 2.5 Lakhs/year 2 years back!!!The person who is close to Ambanis and whose son is commericial pilot is sooo poor!!

i see it more as a problem coz of the people ourself, we know how corrupt some of the politicians are still vote coz of family, looks, caste or whatever is the reason other than merit.
PM may have declared his income but as we kno he is defn worth more all we can do is not vote for him coz he lied , the only problem is every option that is there on the ballot is the same hence the idea of none of the above looks to be a fantastic one to me.

Today congress has inducted lot of film stars. Comic Asrani along with Sharad Kapoor, Namrata Shirodkar Celina Jaitley and Mandira Bedi joined Cong.
Congress sources said there could be more. The graceful Sharmila Tagore has shown some interest as has Delhi's latest bahu Karishma Kapoor. There has also been talk of Mahima Choudhary joining the party.

Yukta Mookhey joins BJP.
Looks like film stars need to be in some party. I see a dark future for India.

Are you thinking that only politicians are corrupt and rest of Indian janata is honest ? and people are not aware to whom they are voting for? Wrong. From Kanyakumari to Simla, everybody knows exactly whom (s)he is voting for and how is the profile of politician he is voting for.People in Tamilnadu know everything about Jayalalitha and so people in UP about Amar Singh. Our politicians are 100% Indians,no mistake there.!!

True, I totally agree. Public has various reasons to elect someone they think will do good for them, let it be that the candidate is good looking or has PhD in Economics. I would leave that to them and it basically follows the logic of one gets what he deserves kinda thing Tamils like film stars to lead them, because they do great stuff in the movies, let it be so but this is where the other idea, of an official audit and report of the background, activities and history of a candidate, by unbiased election officials comes into picture.
Imagine if there was a truly unbiased record of the past of JayaLalitha and other ministers of her government, to compare against that of other candidates, Karunanidhi and others, wouldnt that be fare? Jaya TV or Surya TV might jump right into digging their past with a biased opinion, but some not-so-biased media group, newspaper or radio channel will let the public know the truth, will print the actual findings as it is and I believe, that will give Tamil voters a great chance of taking a better educated decision, than voting for someone because he/she has two thousand pairs of shoes!
Well, not that any of these would change anything overnight, but this would be a step in the right direction for a better tomorrow, IMHO.

There is no difference b/w film stars and politicians. 2 sides of same coin. All stars have links with underworld.

Oh yes! Priyanka is a babe.. but she is married
Sonia should quit and take her family also out of politics. Enough is enough.. no one in the family has political experience anymore.
By the way, anyone know anything about the "Republican Party of India". I heard about this somewhere.

For how long this will go on, I mean to say knowing that a person whom you are giving your vote is corrupt and not at all eligible and still you vote for him/her(this is the lack of seriousness about the politics in our country). Why dont people try other options like CPM, can u please tell me why CPM is not better than BJP or congress? I have never seen any CPM candidate having any criminal background or any charge of corruption against them neither there is any Bhand(film star) in the party most of them are very literate and capable persons, you people have certain perceptions about communist which is mostly based upon what you have heard and what other political parties say about them.
Most of you people will also repeat the same thing which peoples from kanyakumari to simla are going to do that is vote either BJP/CONG and think there is no other option but I am not going to do this again.

Sameer,
CPM ... Daaaa......
That I would consider as a worst kind of option.
By the way what makes you think that BJP is feel good propaganda. How about congress recruiting bunch of movie stars for its own campaigning.
I think there is no good gross roots leaders in the country. That is why everybody is going after movies stars, goondas for their campaigning or political improvement.
Irrespective of all this, BJP at least is keeping the momemtum initiated by PV Narsimha Rao going.
