abt me ..
doing my bachelor in computer sciences (undergraduate course),6th semester .i hav knowledge of C nd C++ .

i m to join a course in java. i wanted to know wats the difference between advanced java and j2ee . IS IT NECCESSARY THT IF I COMPLETE ADVANCED JAVA THEN I MUST GO FOR J2EE ?

Hi Isha,
Advanced Java covers topics like Swing, AWT, JavaBeans.
J2EE covers a wide array of technologies, including XML, Web services, SOAP, EJB, Servlets, JSP, JAAS, JAXB, JMS, etc.
Since you are probably a fresher, I suggest you first concentrate on Core Java (what is covered under the SCJP exam + I/O) and then on Servlets, JSP, EJB, XML, etc.
