Hello,
I have Java 1.4.2_07 running on a laptop on which I have recently loaded another application, that required a 1.3 version. I recently tried to run a program that I wrote and compiled in 1.4.2_07 and I got the following error msg.

My Classpath and Path variable have not changed. Is it possible to run both versions of Java? If not. I need to keep the 1.3 version. How do I make this work?

Thanks,
Linze

*************
Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\CurrentVersion'
has value '1.4', but '1.3' is required.
Error: could not find java.dll
Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.

You will need to reset your path to point to where your version of JDK1.3 is located when you run programs that require the 1.3 runtime and reset your path to where the JDK1.4 version is located when you need to run programs developed to use the 1.4 features. The easiest way to accomplish this is by writing some form of script file that will set your path for you, I personally use Ant to set my Classpath elements and a .bat file to set my Path when swapping between java versions.
