From the link it says I failed.. We'll see how this goes tommorrow when the i7 database is updated..

Check with I7 database. If the results differ, I7 will be the one for conclusion.

Just see whether you are certified for SCJP Tiger.

If so, you dont have to worry about anything.

If not, I guess you need to wait for the score report to see whether there are appeal processes.

That's exactly what has happened in my case. The Prometic result has changed from passed to failed. I also ran out of time and did not answer all questions. I have deleted my post from Sun Certification Results.

Hello everyone.
I just looked at the database, and I can see that I am now a certified programmer.

But I can't find my score (59% or 80% or 100%)
And I really want to know which score I did.

Where can I find such information ?

P.S I also tried http://www.certmanager.net/sun_assignment/
but as a first time user, it seems that they can recognize me.

So, will be obliged to wait until 16 May ?

I7 database is the official database we're told to check the result according to the instructions sent by SunBeta last week. But if there is a discrepancy between I7 and Prometric database, I suggest e-mailing to SunCert@prometric.com for clarification.

My status in Prometric is Passed and I7 is Certified.

I guess you dont have to worry too much, but you might send an email to SUN if you wanna to confirm.

As said, if you passed the beta exam, your status should be "Certified", not "Enrolled". "Enrolled" means you have failed in the test.

Anyway, do check with SUN to get the final conclusion.

Guys, Prometric site sucks!

I remember about 2 years ago when I was waiting for the results of MSCD.NET Beta exam. They marked the exam status for everybody as failed and when the results where published for a few days it was a nightmare because they were changing the status of some people to Pass but not all on the same time. So for weeks there were people waiting and waiting to see that Failed turned into Passed.

Meantime they learned the lesson and at least the initial status shows Tested but they may still have issues.

As other people said it already: trust only the official Sun results.

I flunked SCJP5.0 beta
I took the exam on Feb-07 (officially declared as the last date to take the exam) and later, the exam taking date was extended, If given more time, I would have had a better result.
Neway, now I got plenty of time to clear the original exam. No false deadlines and no extensions.
I also have a better idea of the exam now.

But, I see a sense of biased partiality in setting and extending the exam dates.Dont u think this is unfair

Chalam.

Nick,

I am just curious how many ppl passed / how many ppl took the beta exam?
You said the passing rate is the same as the officail version (so it's 59%), right?

I passed it, even if I left out the last 30 questions with "guess" due to not-proper-time-management

I really did a "slow-start with care" though...

True or False.

I took the exam on 12 Feb 2005, I knew the exam period was extended 3 days before, however, I still could pass it.

It depends. I would say, if you were not ready, why go for it? Why didnt cancel it? You had the choices and you did make a decision.

If you cancelled the exam on 7 Feb 2005 due to you were not ready, when you knew the exam was extended, you would then enjoy the benefits of the extension. It was not a must to take the exam.

This is an private information and will not be known by unrelated people.

Yes, when you get the score report, you will know.

There could be lots of reasons. One reason is that, there are some questions you answered wrongly, however, those questions themselves contain some problems. Sun fixed them, but they will not be counted in your test. Only 72 items are counted (out of 166 items).

So, you might be lucky that some questions are cancelled/not counted, and you passed because of that.

Other reasons might be you did a good job in the test.

If one is passing, it doesnt mean everyone will pass, though they can pass. And, we never knew that the certification is going to get extended.

I did not cancel the exam because, that was the last date mentioned before.
I agree I was not ready to take the exam, but I am left with no choice, either don't take exam at all or give ur best try in the best part.

I also didnt knew there are exams on this earth which go on for 51/2hrs without a break. The authors of SCJP (though beta) professional certification exam did not think of a simple logic that 99% folks cant stay that long with the exam. I wonder how this idea got approved

I am actually in .NET, this was my first wonderful venture with Java.
Anyway I am going try till I clear SCJP.

Finally, I agree EXCUSES are like everybody has one. But, what I say are not excuses, they are FACTS effecting most of the test takers.

You did have a choice originally. I would not expect I could finish my study within 3 days if I were not ready today. And thus, I would simply cancel my booking at least 24 hours before.

It is always a fake vision that I can finish up everything within a short period and take the exam, which can be passed. Someone said they can finish SCJP within 1-2 weeks study, however, without K&B or other cert-oritented books, it is in fact very difficult to do so.

I also didnt knew there are exams on this earth which go on for 51/2hrs without a break. The authors of SCJP (though beta) professional certification exam did not think of a simple logic that 99% folks cant stay that long with the exam. I wonder how this idea got approved

This is known for all beta testers, as the exam time and number of questions have been specified in the email, as well as SUN's website. You know the rules and you play the game. Once you have played the game, there should be no unfairness or complaints as you knew this already, as if you feel uncomfortable, you could choose not to play with it.

In addition, the original cost of the exam is USD$150, but now, you just paid USD$50 (someone who did the survey can get it for free), in addition with a 75% off discount voucher. There are no free lunchs, when you gain something (a cheaper exam), you need to pay something else (long time with longer questions).
