Equality my a$$....

Is there any case in which husband is getting money from his ex-wife to support himself after divorce ??
Agree with you Herb... and at that time NO woman will talk abt equality. They will show themselves as the weakest one in the world.
And then they have got biggest weapon, tears..
I fear tears.

While we have increased our collective knowledge, biologists have detected absolutely no changes in our species. We are who we are, let us accept that fact peacefully.
Who are we to say that anything we have done is actually an improvement anyway? By what standards? Standards that we made up anyway?
How convenient that we make up these standards as we go along and then pat ourselves on the back for our improvements and superiorities. So that whatever happens we change the standards and then sit back and call that progress?
In the past, the hunters worked for a few hours to bring down the mammoth, then everyone feasted for days. Now instead of a few hours of work, I work 8-12 hours a day inside a tiny cramped box with artificial light. True, they lived not as long, but their lives packed more vitality and spirit into those short years than we will ever experience or even dream of. Living long is not everything, even trees live long.
Nothing can compare with working outside in the fresh air and sun, communing with nature, with no worries about mortgage payemnts or being laid off. The world is your oyster, it feeds and provides you what you need with little effort. Then there is the excitment of bringing down a wholly mamoth. God, the adrenaline rush, the blood, the struggle, the excitement! In just those few moments a dozen lifetimes are lived ! The meaning of true courage is shown. Valor is honored. There is nothing to compare with this in modern life.
Also Eugene pointed out, the government today regulates, restricts, and constricts our sex lives. In the old days, we just jumped on whoever wanted, whenever we wanted, and did whatever we wanted. in the caves , in the fields, or on the mountain tops.
No, the modern world is not an improvement.

Such a Romantic  .
You are overlooking the fact that after he did that hunting, he had to come home and build a hut or cave, then sit and cure that hide for hours, then go chop saplings for shafts and chip stones for spear heads, then try to fish for a while because the Mammoths rudely decided to migrate south for the season. Then starve half the winter for lack of meat or vegetables.
When he was done with that he got to gather wood for heat, dig a new pit (much like redecorating the bathroom), and watch more that half of his children die as infants from disease.
Every minute of his day was spent in attempting to survive and not always suceeeding.
And you say that the modern world is not an improvement .
Like you never sat and watched TV when you should have been out fighting SaberTooth tigers .

That was women's work while the babies were sleeping.

The woolly mammoths never went far south because wool gets too hot in the warm weather,

No, you don't understand that pre-historic
people, they were nomadic and traveled with the big game.

[Cindy Glass]: Besides - he hasn't figured out the inviso-text replies up to now .
[Ravish Kumar]: Cindy, I saw those inviso-chars. And you are right

OK, though I've read all the inviso-replies, I freely admit I have no certain understanding of what you really mean or what your goals here are, Ravish. I don't feel particularly bad about that; you're the one who posted a load of nonsense and then obfuscated it further. If you wish to clarify, great, but if not, I don't really care - as I said, I was responding to the surface messages.
If you do wish to clarify though, one point of uncertainty for me is the line "because I dont believe in this crap." It seems to have first appeared in a post by you, but you attibuted it to Balaji. I assume it's really you, and you just can't be bothered with details like clear attribution. So, when you say "I don't believe in this crap" - which "crap" are you referring to? The statement "You are only good for making babies and then take care for it."? Or one of the responses to it?

Herb- sorry, I didn't mean to imply that all modernizations have been improvements, or that everything necessarily has to be improved. Just that "natural" does not map to "better" any more than "modern" does - not in the general case, anyway. Some things are better, some are worse - there are many different examples that might be discussed, most of them not directly relevant to this thread. I'm just saying that I reject the apparent implication that because something is "natural", that by itself implies that it cannot or should not be changed. It usually implies that change is difficult and not to be taken lightly, but that's not the same thing.

I don't believe in this crap:- "Women are designed to simply stay home and nurse/make children."
Because I think, in this modern time when a woman can decide when she wants to nurse a child, she should have a right to choose whether she wants to be a working woman OR would love to be a CEO of Home Inc.
And IMO working woman is NOT superior to any house wife. [which most of the working women think]
Even I have seen dumb working women and more intelligent house wives.

Well, I have done both at various times in my life. I don't REMEMBER changing intelligence levels when staying home. I DO remember how boring it is to have the high point of your day be mopping the kitchen floor .
Admit it, Ravish was just trying to stir up trouble, and Jim in just trying to give it to him from a different direction.

I think you're on to something now. The time is is ripe for just such a movement. I was in the book store last week and this doctor had a book advocating a Stone Age diet as the most healthy. The point is we really haven't changed in millions of years. We were designed to live a certain way and the way we are living now is not it. Men were meant to be hunters, women were meant to be baby makers.

I dont why u thinking like that way...
dumb working woman ...how u measured the dumbness.

Whether working woman or housewife, how efficiently a woman can mange everthing depends on each individual. One can make dinner with in 15 min and another takes half hour. Each individual has diff view point towards life. some guys think that my wife should sit at home and another think that my wife should be working. so there is no point in arguing. BUT ur view point woman are designed simply to stay home doesnt make any sense. In some cases both have to work to make both ends meet rt?

Equality is a long way off, they're still fighting for it.
Women are restricted by legislation in doing many dangerous jobs generally and sometimes they simply can't because of the strength needed. I suppose they could all go out and try build themselves up like brick sh*thouses, but then no one would want to marry them. Tough choice. However, I doubt many women would fight for the right to get murdered as frequently as men though (once usually does it).
Housewives might be able to control the wealth of the husband sure. Now does she get Arial Automatic or new whiter Daz? Hmmmm, so many choices...
Women get judicial preference in child custody cases because everybody thinks its natural for the mother to look after babies! That's so unfair! Maybe if people's attitudes changed...
Would you seriously criticize a man for wanting to stay home and look after his kids while his wife went out to work? I suppose he might be scared that his mates will call him a pussy. Big deal. And if its 'society' expressing disapproval then that's part of the whole problem right? Men and women can be as maternally caring as each other - all you need is a baby.
My (original) point was if it was so natural for women to be the sole housekeepers and babylovers I doubt there would have been a need for all the laws (secular and religious) suggesting they stay there.

My simple point is that being a working woman does not make someone superior to house wife.
BUT ur view point woman are designed simply to stay home doesnt make any sense.
thanks for telling me that its my view
Catch is here :
some guys think that my wife should sit at home and another think that my wife should be working.
Why wife cant decide what is good for her ?
