Don't worry about it, Rita. I got 6.

There does seem to be a general tendency in the results here, but some people (Santosh, Arjun) are obviously overstating it. There is no overall rule that applies to everyone.

I'm glad i'm not the only guy who got 6...

I wonder if it's a left brain/right brain thing. Aren't females (generally) more right, and men more left (or vice versa???)??? That theory works for me, since i have a degree in Theatre, but became a math teacher and now a Java programmer.

Maybe men who count 6 and women who count 3 are more in balance, or in tune with their 'opposite' side.

Hmmm, I like that better
One thing my male friends noticed, that I can do 2-3 tasks at the same time that they could never do, like studying for exam, watching movie and eating grapes. All 3 I always do successfully - I pass exams with at least A-, I can re-tell the movie story and I finish my grapes. They tied it to my female brain activity. I knew many girls who used to study just like I did, while watching a movie.
I wander if there is something in females that allowes them to perform multiple tasks simultaniously.

Yes there are very good evolutionary reasons for this - and it goes back to the tribal thing where women were responsible for childminding, cooking and generally looking after the home - requiring multi-tasking skills to get everything done. Men on the other hand are apparently more adept at focussed activities such as hunting for dinner.....

Its all a theory and doesnt amount to much in the modern world though!

Yup, I do this too, and I can't listen to music while I work (or at least not vocal music; I can deal with instrumentals.)

But when I was in high school, the stereo blasted away while I did my homework. Why is that? Why could I listen to music when I worked as a kid, but not now?

Actually (sorry for the stream of consciousness here, folks) I do pay bills and watch TV at the same time, no problem. So I apparently have trouble programming and navigating while listening to music, but not doing mindless clerical work.

So I've got multipipe brain, but apparently the pipes are not equipotent. Kinda like the U and V pipes on a Pentium chip.
