Is this said as a practicing Catholic (doesn't sound like it), or are as a non-Catholic who feels others should follow your own personal beliefs?

New pope is cardinal Joseph Ratzinger.
He is the first "german" pope for more then 500 years.
He is not very popular in Germany and even not among the more commited catholics I know for being too conservative.
My personal opinion is that he will have a tuff start. Last pope was very charismatic.
I was in train and there was an anouncement: After 500 years the first german pope was elected. A girl said: And why are they telling us? (typical german reaction).
Last "german" pope was actually a dutchman from Utrecht (Hadrian VI, 1522-3). At that time the Netherlands were part of the "Holy Roman Empire of German Nation", which was not even a confederation but even more loosely coupled than systems through Messaging System.

hmm, lots of posts gone... Moderators working with a blunt axe to replicate the Spanish Inquisition (nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition...) or an old backup being restored?

And I thought we were having a very civil discussion. I suppose it could be a restored backup for some reason, but I think I'll avoid the argument until we hear more.

Judging by the other forums I'd say you're right about the backup

Now we have to recreate 24 hours of drivel
