Why SCJP required?

You can go your whole life and be an excellent programmer without the SCJP, so its not mandatory

However it does show employers that you have focuses on gaining industry recognised exams. Its "proof" that you are a Java programmer

Passing the SCJP won't guarantee you a job, but it'll certainly help

Last thing i want to say is..(may be someone above mention this because i have not read the whole post)

SCJP certified doesnot mean that you are an expert in java
It only proves that you know the basic syntax of java.

First of all thanks for your sweet comments...

I hurt when I see something that disrespect something I have respect for..and I really respect SUN and Sun certificates but really feel bad when you only doing it for some of your advantage not for the knowledge ...If you see the thread once fully you'll understand it more clearly ... I respect the authors who made java easy for me ....People claiming very good books for java and they do so I don't know whether they understood it or not...Well I don't have any intention to disgrace any certificate just wanted to share some on my experience that I have with Sun and JAVA...Hope you do understand and take this in right spirit...

well the same thing I saying the important point of SCJP is get knowledge but because of it's unchanging patteren now it is not required to get it
