I also got the following email from SUNCERT_WW <suncert_ww@oracle.com> :

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can continue working on your assignment and then take the Essay exam through Pearson VUE. After completing both you can email us on architect-submit_US@oracle.com and we will assist you further.

For those who, like me, bought assigment by credit card (no voucher), here is what i got from Oracle:

Please note that you do not require a voucher to upload the assignment on Pearson Vue web site., we are sorry for the confusion. We are in process of updating the messaging on our web site. You can start uploading the assignments through Pearson VUE after 01 June 2011. Currently the exam registration through Prometric has ended. The registration process for assignments and essay through Pearson VUE will start on 01 June 2011. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

And concerning exam history from Prometric to Pearson Vue:

Please note you will not be able to view the past Exam history (exams taken with Prometric) on the Pearson VUE website. All exam records and testing history are the property of Oracle, this information will remain with Oracle. Likewise, all new records created through the new testing vendor will be forwarded to Oracle for processing and storage.

Hope it clarifies the situation.

Yes, but there is no link in the pearson site to 'upload' the assignment.
oh, does this mean the link will appear after June 01?

I have sent a mail to Oracle (awaiting reply):

1) Do I still need to submit my assignment via email? I don't see any such link in pearson site to upload.
2) I tried to schedule the essay exam via pearson, but the essay exam itself is not getting listed. Why?
Does this mean my certification history is not updated correctly?

3) Another time, the essay exam is getting listed , but it says, '85 needs to be graded first to allow you to schedule for this exam

For those of you who are stranded out there like I was - let me try to answer from the many replies I got from Oracle.
1. Your Prometric history will not be available in Pearson Vue
2. Your Prometric history and CertManager details will be migrated to Oracle's CertView db by mid of June
3. You can schedule part 3 with Pearson only after mid June - which is when they will complete migration
4. If you have already downloaded the assignement, you can mail it to Oracle any time before they provide an alternate means in their Certification blog

These are my understanding based on the responses from Oracle. Albeit the policy changes of Oracle, I should appreciate the Oracle Certification Team for responding to all my emails(which I never thought they would, given the volume of questions they are bombarded with)

HTH

This is a shocker...means I will have to take it one month later than I planned to...

I am not comfortable in mailing in the assignment now and taking the exam later...I would like to do it as close as possible...

Thanks for your replies, this helps.

Right I have somewhat the same problem. I'm trying to take part I of the exam, but I can't find the exam 1Z0-864 (SCJEA part I ) in my pearson vue account. I can only find the SAMPLE-864.

so are we supposed to wait until 31st of may, and after that the exams will be listed in the pearson vue account?

Vignesh says that you can only access the Part 3 of the exam after mid June. Is this the case also for SCEA Part 1? Has anybody taken part 1 since oracle migrated to pearson vue?

Thanks,
Victor

I got 2 replies from Oracle.
One from architect-submit_US@oracle.com:

You can start uploading the assignments through Pearson VUE after 01 June 2011. Currently the exam registration through Prometric has ended. The registration process for assignments and essay through Pearson VUE will start on 01 June 2011.

And another one from suncert_ww@oracle.com:

Assignment purchase and submission is temporarily on hold while we ramp up our new system for submission. Candidates will be able to begin submitting assignments again on June 1, 2011. On June 1, please follow the steps below:

1. Contact us (at suncert_ww@oracle.com) to request a voucher that will allow you to submit the assignment.
2. Create a Pearson VUE web account at pearsonvue.com/oracle if you do not already have one.
3. Access the assignment online at pearsonvue.com/oracle, using test number 1Z0-848 for the Architect assignment and 1Z0-844 for the Developer assignment.
4. Using your voucher code to access one of these tests will place you into a special form of the assignment where you can upload your completed work.
5. You will not be eligible to register for the essay until you have submitted your assignment.

So, basically to sum up, from today:
a) We will have to only 'upload' the assignment through Pearson VUE.
b) and to do that, we have to get an extra voucher code from Oracle.
c) We will be able to register for the essay exam only after we upload the assignment - this means, for us, there would be at least few days gap between submission and essay exam.

Hi All,

I cleared Part I of SCEA at the beginning of May and downloaded the assigment paying with a credit card. Last week I sent an email to Oracle asking for the voucher so I can upload it through the Pearson website. Here is their reply:

"Thanks for contacting Oracle Certification Program.

You can start uploading the assignments through Pearson VUE after 01 June 2011. Currently the exam registration through Prometric has ended. The registration process for assignments and essay through Pearson VUE will start on 01 June 2011. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

We will be able to provide you the voucher to upload assignment by 03 June 2011.

Regards,
OCP Team "

I hope it helps other people in the same situation ... one less thing to worry, I can now fully focus on doing the assigment. However the next think I need to know, is the gap between submitting the assigment and being able to schedule part III .
In case I get further information I will post it in this thread ....
By the way thanks to all who support this forum, it is priceless!!!

yah...they keep talking about the 'upload' link, but I can't find any...and there is a 'Course Submission' page - but the OCMJD and OCMJEA are not listed there...also, there is no place to enter the 'transition voucher' once we get it...
I have emailed on June 1 and awaiting the transition voucher...
for emails, Oracle SLA is 5 business days...and in this rate, looks like it will take 1 month for us to finish this process...this waiting period is annoying and process is creating more irritation and tension than the exam itself...

I have received my new voucher this morning, this is Oracle response:

"Hi Hector,

Please note we have issued a voucher to upload your completed assignment jar file on Pearson Vue web site. Kindly use the voucher to upload your completed assignment.

The Voucher must be redeemed no later than 31 December 2011. The voucher expiry date will not be extended nor the voucher replaced after this date.

Visit our web site at for information on uploading the completed assignment to Pearson Vue web site.

Regards,
OCP Team"

I have gone into the Pearson test site and a new option appears under the "What type of exam are you planning to take". If you select Master Assignments you will see "1Z0-848 Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Assignment (T1)", this is the one to use according to Oracle transition FAQ under the section "I purchased the Assignment from Prometric, but I haven’t returned my completed project to Oracle yet. How do I upload my Assignment?" I still have not uploaded anything, but when selecting this exam, I can enter a voucher

Hope it helps

Yes, now I see the link. However, I hit the link, it asks for credentials and then it doesn't take me back to that link. Instead it takes me to my home page where this is no link. So, I pasted the 'https' direct link in the address bar. When I do that, it again asks for credentials!

As per the FAQ, I've mailed suncert_ww@oracle.com on this matter, and I'll keep you updated on the replies....

I uploaded the assignment today, by applying the voucher, sent by oracle (I had purchased assignment through prometric). All you have to do is just apply voucher and the form wizard will take you to the upload page.
On the last page I got message after submission of jar file, that I can take essay exam any time now onward.

The voucher is working for me. However, am unable to upload i.e it goes till the 'upload' page, I select the file & click 'Upload' - there it just freezes. I have tried a dozen times from both Firefox and Chrome but no avail.

I finally uploaded. Yesterday I had tried from Ubuntu - today did it from Windows via Chrome and it worked. The window didn't look like an Applet so am wondering what the difference is...and yes, as soon as it was uploaded, it said I can take the essay exam.

Hi Ranchers,

I am in the same case : I have downloaded the assignment from Prometric one month ago, and I'm ready to upload it but Sun / Oracle didn't send me any voucher (it's been 2 days I have requested it).

Now my testing center is proposing me to take the part 3 exam, they can enroll me today. I am residing in New Delhi, India and I am leaving tomorrow evening for France. I would like to take the part 3 exam before I leave because I won't have much time in France to do it.

Do you think I can take it before uploading part 2 since I can do it (I can even buy the part 3 voucher on Pearson Vue site) ?

Best regards,
Eric Manuguerra

Thanks,
Yes Jeanne ! That's what made me confused because it said that i need to send my finished assignment to architect-submit_US@oracle.com, but seems the rules have changed.
I sent architect-submit_US@oracle.com an email, and they replied telling me to send it to suncert_ww@oracle.com and ask form them a voucher to upload my assignment.
I even attached a scanned image for the payment receipt. Anyway, still waiting for the voucher its been 3 days .....

You'll have to email Oracle to ask if it has expired.
