John Jai wrote:I see the good thing in protesting is not for the bill but those who protest will eventually tend to develop an anti corruption mind that will stay forever. Especially when most of the youths are protesting, and when they come into public sectors or even win elections, it means that there is a high probability of reduction in corruption. So I feel Better India is not based on that Bill but the actual mind set injected into Future Indians.
Though I am not into any kind of protestations.

Good Point

One example of what corruption in India could lead to http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-14611467

I feel sorry for this but bad roads are also some way or the other linked to corruption, bribery.... you name it.

Reminds me of a famous dialogue in one of the south Indian movies. In some western countries you bribe to get that extra duty to be done (I'm not sure if this it true) but in India you bribe to even get the basic duty to be done (this is very true).

I've heard it too. The movie name was ugh, err...I don't remember. It has something to do with nationality, patriotism or likes of that? Maybe any South Indian could shed some light on this?

The movie name is Ramana... and the hero of the movie (Vijayakanth) is now a Member of Legislature Assembly (Tamil Nadu) and a leader of a political party (DMDK)...

That seems to be the main purpose of this movement. Protestors too know passing one bill/law in parliament will not eradicate corruption. It might take time but one needs to start somewhere.

Deviating from the main topic -

It looks like the "government" is simply buying time, hoping that anna will fall ill and protesters will get tired and go back home. I am only hoping that this will not happen. Most of the people have jobs to do, families to take care of etc. I wonder if people can keep the pressure high enough for as long as it takes.

Corrupt people tend to respond only to force like the one we see in other parts of the world.

So will India be corruption free? I doubt. But definitely corruption is going to reduce. Thanks to Anna for making this happen.

Apart from the Jan Lokpal bill, another big victory of this movement by Anna Hazare was that it awakened the people. People have changed their attitude of leaving things the way they are instead of trying to make things better...

Corruption won't get reduced at all. It's in ever corner of India. It's already grown as Tree !! (----> If you want to stop --->It must start from small),corruption must stopped in every day basis of life. That's only way ,so that our future leaders won't be corrupted.
