How would you describe the difference between J2EE and plain ol' Java?

Thanks.

Well J2EE has all the packages for Servlets/JSP, EJB, MDBs. As J2EE stands for Enterprise Edition, it has the classes needed to make Enterprise software.

The syntax is the same since J2EE depends on J2SE (i.e. "plain ol' Java"). The difference is that J2EE adds a lot of APIs. If you are intersted in learning more about J2EE, you should look at Sun's Tutorial on it.Sun's J2EE 1.4 Tutorial.
