By core java, do you mean the two-volume book by Horstmann and Cornell?

Look at the end of the preface, page xix, where it says "Sample Code."

Adam,

I appreciate where you're coming from, trying to get other folks to improve their posting skills and all, but this message is already in one of our wiki pages (See link in my sig below -- and while you're at it, you might want to take a peek at the link for answering questions too ). However, being as the Ranch is meant to be "a friendly place for greenhorns", we tend to let unclear subject lines slide and take a gentler, subtler, almost subliminal approach (... see my sig ...), especially in the beginner forums.
