Hi - first post here, so I apologise if I'm posting this in the wrong section, etc.
Just a quick question - I'm looking for a good Java-based spell checker (and, ideally thesaurus too) component. It needs to be multi-lingual, and hopefully not too expensive either. Preferably I should be able to add new words as well, but I guess that goes without saying.
Google has presented me with various components that tick some of the above boxes, but I'm struggling to find any that do them all at the same time!
Any help greatly appreciated.
As an aside - does anyone know whether Chinese (and other character-based) languages use spell checkers and thesauri, or are they concepts that don't really translate? [ February 01, 2006: Message edited by: David Payne ]
Thanks very much for the response, but I actually found (what appears to be) a very good component, if a little on the pricey side, made by Wintertree Software, which is a little more fully-featured, and does everything I need.
Not sure what you guys think about mentioning names here - I haven't seen them in other posts, I apologise if I'm not supposed to!
