Hi,
My friends and me are planning to visit Trichy(Tiruchirapally) next week.As many ranchers are from Tamilnadu, please advise:
1)In temples, does one need to enter with specific dress code?
2)What are approximate rates for staying in Hotels?
Thanks
RAD

Well this site http://www.trichy.com/ might help you a lot..

Dressing code:
For guys: a decent t-shirt or shirt and pant or jean, better avoid shorts or half pants.
For gals: Skirts were not allowed in most of the temples.

1. Most Temples in TN do not have a specific dress code. But there are some no-no items. Ex: no half pants, kaili/saram (not sure how you guys call it).

There are some exceptions. I heard Srirangam temple imposes a dress code (not 100% sure). If you get time, you should visit Madurai which is 2-3 hour drive from Trichi.

2. For a decent hotel, the rate could be anywhere between 600-800Rs/day for a 2 bed AC rooms. For non-AC it could be anywhere between 400-600Rs/day. If you bargain with them, you can reduce it a bit.
