Fantastic news, at last we won't have to listen to this idiot any more.

Where were you listening to him, I don't seem to have heard anything he has said?

I stopped listening a long time ago, but a few months silence from him will be more than welcome.

Nope, this is the guy who says "I hate the British, they are evil infedels" and then says "Er, excuse me, can I have some legal support (paid for by British taxpayers) to help me fight to keep my British citizenship (that I got by marrying a Briton), because I've spent all my money on a terrorist training camp in Oregon".

Is he really that honest? Really?

I would have imagined he would be arrested/deported/whatever the day when he gave anti-American, pro-terrorism speeches, and it was rather frustrating to watch British government let him and his supporters declare their support to terrorism (standing around his meetings wearing face masks, for example). Its a shame UK had to find an excuse (a request by the USA) to arrest him!

However, now thats done, lets hope non-extremist Muslim Britons will forget him and his bad ideas.

Prior to the US's extradition request, the UK Government was already trying to remove his citizenship, so I wouldnt necessarily say that the government was standing by doing nothing.

However one of the side-effects of living in a country where free speech is allowed is that opinions such as Hamza's will be voiced. As unpalatable as his opinions are, we cannot have one law for the majority of the nation, and another law for a minority simply because we do not agree with their opinions. The law has to apply to everyone, equally.

Well said, Mark. I will follow his fate with interest. Anyone fancy a bet on how many years it will take for his extradition? Or will David Blunkett magic up a new law exempting one-eyed blokes with hooks from the protection of the law?

Sometime this year the predictions go. I hate to sound like a Daily Mail why oh why editorial but this has all taken too long.

I believe the French and Italians had similar problems and responded with very rapid deportations. Why couldn't we do it here?

I lived in Italy and I am sure that if I had advocated the violent overthrow of the italian state I would have quickly got a one way ticket to london with a carabinieri escort and free leg-irons thrown in!

We seem to be suffering from liberal-sclerosis if there is such a term.

(Breathes out noisily, feeling much relieved after a rant)
