can u please simplify the steps for installing java because the steps given in sun are very complex and confusing

You haven't indicated which set of instructions you found at Sun were complex and confusing or what operating system you are working under. Did you start from here...?

not that one............still from the begining...........i have lots of questions?? i just want to know how to get java installed properly in working condition........like i don't know from were to get java 1.4.........i know that i can get from sun website and it is free also but how to go about that.......should i directly install that on the machine..........or first i should download to the machine and then install on the same machine..........should i hav internet connection to download that??........can i download from internet kiosk and then copy it into my machine?? i hav seen the capacity of jdk kit is above 100 mb.......then how to download from outside (from internet kiosk as capacity is 100 mb and it couldn't be included in floppy disks........ And also even if i take any internet connection then it will take around 10 hrs to download that jdk kit.......... then that cost will go around 240 rupess.............. is there any shop which gives this jdk kit?? or are there any other easy way to get it??? even after getting all these what are the simple steps which i shuld follow so that atleast i would be able to execute simple program in java??? these all are the questions which are eating my head??? kindly some one advice right from begining how to go about it in a simple way!!!

There are books that include the JDK on a CD. You might check out your local bookstore.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
