Hi there I'm new to Java, and this is my first stab at a really useful program. It basically is able to read and write text files as .rtf's, but I want to also be able to take a text file, read it line by line, and modify the lines individually as a two dimensional array called data[][].

Unfortunately, I'm getting serious problems with putting the line modifier module of the program into a separate class from the main class. The build output in JCreator tells me the following:

Here is the code for the problematic class, if it helps:

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

1) The errors you mention do not refer to the code you show. For example, the line:
System.out.println("Enter patient full name: ");
does not appear in the code you showed us.

2) void modify ( String ModifyFileName );
should probably be
void modify ( String ModifyFileName ) {

There are several other things in this code sample which cause it not to compile. Want to try again?

Darn, I thought I was having alot of problems but I just fooled around with some reorganizing of the code and now I'm good. Thanks for the suggestions anyways.
