Let's see, we've offshored light industry, medium industry, IT, healthcare, food production, and entertainment.
Leaves only heavy industry, law enforcement, national security and the IRS.

Can we outsource crime?

"Six Indians were killed today by a homocidal sniper working for an outsourcing firm in India. The American sniper scheduled to murder six people was laid off three months ago when his position was outsourced to Bangalore."

I was under the impression that a lot of heavy industry was the first thing to be 'offshored', decades ago when Japan was still a 'developing country'.

Eleven Indians were gassed to death in an elevator by an Indian working for an outsourcing firm in the city of Bangalore yesterday. A Bangalore police spokesperson said the death toll was exacerbated by overcrowding. The elevator was designed to take a maximum of ten. In a related incident a man was arrested for criminial substance abuse in Lubbock, TX. Acting on a tip-off from a local grocery attendant police raided the man's apartment and seized a vast quantity of baked beans. A spokesperson at the District Attorney's office said the man may be charged with genocide in addition to criminal substance abuse.

How would you feel if a foreigner said that atleast America isnt stupid enough to elect foreign "monkeys" like India has already demonstrated.

Note to Moderators: I said the above offensive statement because I thought San's statements were exceedingly offensive. And being an Indian myself, I think I can say the above without insulting anyone except people of my own kind. You can delete both these posts after San's got the point!

No. With heavy industry I mean places like the large shipyards like Newport News where they build carriers and nuclear submarines.
Yes, the US yards have been overtaken in part by those in Asia but that was through competition not outsourcing. Now it's time to outsource the rest.
Think of mining too.
Think of the oil industry.

Japan got the medium and light industry. Cars, home electrical equipment.

Oh yeah, I forgot one thing that can be outsourced: education.
Hire teachers in Karachi to teach Pakistani kids, then claim to have educated your own children because you spent the money...

Its probably a case of different jobs being done instead of more jobs being done i.e. people moving from simple manufacturing and agricultural work into (outsourced) services. I'd expect the level of employment to increase in India as its economy grows, but this increase is likely to be a slow one, not a sudden over night change as companies come to India. Although economies can crash extremely quickly, building them up takes time. I'm sure it'll happen though - India (and similarly China) just have too many resources not to become big economies at some point soon.

Because the population is growing faster than the jobmarket?
X people enter the jobmarket in India each year.
Y jobs are created each year.
In other words: for (int x = Y; x < X; unemployment++);

They also got much of the steel industry.

You could say that was "competition not outsourcing", but I don't see that it's really different. U.S. manufacturers starting to buy steel from Japan instead of the U.S. because it was cheaper than buying it from U.S. companies or making it themselves; not that much difference from U.S. manufacturers starting to buy computer components from overseas.

A double negative makes a positive. If you say his "lack of standards" are going down, it means his standards are going up.
