Hi,
Can anybody tell me how to make a war file of an application.
This is the directory structure of the Application.

aaa
|_____
|
META-INF
WEB-INF
index.jsp
search.jsp
result.jsp

Use the 'jar' utility. Just give the file a .war extension. A war file has the same format as a jar file, the extensions are different because they're usually used for different things.

If you want to skip some work... use a zip utility. Create a zip file and then change the extension.
Maybe this will save you some work. As a beginner it will suffice.
For a more professional work learn ant. Also the majority of IDE's have a jar/war/ear/rar utility. JAR in command line is nice but not necessary to learn in the hard way.

Hi Padmaratna,

You can use command 'jar', comes bundled with j2sdk.

aaa> jar cvf aaa.war *

where aaa - is the name of the folder you have in your hierarchy.
