Hello:

I am using the Jakarta Commons Lang package to help me parse some dates: here is some sample code:



This throws an exception. I think this is because ET is not a valid time zone. Is this true?

I am trying to grab some information out of a source, parse the dates and dump it into a db. Unfortunately, the source (a news source no less) has all their dates in this format.

Could be. Is ET something like EST or EDT? I wouldn't trust any source that fails to distinguish between these. Perhaps you can just hardcode the "ET" as part of the pattern?
