Hello ,
I am an experienced programmer in Java (3 years) .I am looking
for a book that goes deals with DataStructures and Algorithms
exclusively in Java. My main motive of this is to crack the really hard
Interviews where DS and algors are a huge focus .

I have come across good books in this category , but most of them are in
C++.

If the books are in the mould of "Head First Series" , that will be a
huge plus rather than reams of explanation .

Could you please point me to such a resource? thanks in advance.

"Alias Alias",

First, welcome!!! However, you apparently missed or ignored our Naming Policy on the way in. Briefly, you must use a real sounding first and last name, separated by a space. Obviously ficticious names will also not be allowed.

Please follow this link and correct your publicly displayed name as soon as possible.

thanks.

Now... this is the book i used in my algorithms class. it's not specific to ANY language, which makes sense to me. i don't think you should be bogged down in the programming language when trying to learn them - you should be concentrating on the algorithm itself.

it also covers many data structures, and treats them in the same rigorous fashion. There is a LOT of math in it, but the claim is you could skip that (although, to me, that was the fun part).

it's not a cheap book, but i think it's great.

There are several other books reviewed in the Bunkhouse. pull up the list of all reviewed books, then search the page for "algorithms", and you'll find several reviewed books.

You may want to check out this online text on the subject. Its certainly not exhaustive, but its reasonably easy to understand and its free.

Thanks for the responses ...I appreciate it.

I am looking for something Java specific ..moreover I do have Algors/DS
experience (I did that in my CS courses as a Grad and Undergrad) .
I was looking to refresh my knowledge with a Java specific DS and Algors
book ..

It would be helpful if you could point me to Interview oriented Java
books too ..(This will be a bonus)

Thanks in advance.
