Hello,

I am trying to package up a java desktop appilcation that I have written, but I have not idea where to start! Could someone point me in the right direction.

I can run my application via NetBeans, but what I want is for it to run by clicking on a icon on the desktop.

Thoughts appreciated!

That's what jar files are for, which can be made double-clickable. See here for more info.

I've never used NetBeans, but most IDEs have "export as..." menu item. You want to export it as an executable jar. There will probably be a wizard that holds your hand and write the manifest for you...
