I know that the characterstics of java are

simple, object oriented, robust, secure, architecture neutral. platform independant, High performance, interpreted, threaded, dynamic distributed.

but, I don't understand what it mens by

architecture neutral, robust, and dynamic.

can anybody please throw light on this.

Thanks,
Dinakar

Architecture neutral means that the language and the standard library does not contain stuff that is specific for specific computer platforms (hardware and operating systems). I think it means more or less the same as "platform independent".

Robust means that it has features to help programmers to write code that contains less bugs. Java has no pointers, for example.

Dinakar,

Given your recitation of those Java buzzwords, have you in fact read the white paper that set them out in the first place?

http://java.sun.com/docs/overviews/java/java-overview-1.html

I can think of no better explanation of those terms.
