Months ago the waterlilies in the pond in front of my house bloomed. They can last till late October. Last month I took some pictures of them at late afternoon and the high noon( at around 14:00 ). In the late afternoon the pedals don't open but at the high noon the sun light was very hard. Most of the photos are failures but the waterlilies are still beautiful. Then my finals came and I didn't go out shoot again. These days I have time but it always rains and it's as cold as early winter . The weather of Germany is sick these days which made me sick too. I've been suffering from a cold and having a fever for three days. Now I'm better hopefully I can go out tomorrow.

The tiny pond is no bigger than 4*4 m2. Interesting enough though. There are golden fishes therein swimming all year around and often you can see birds playing water on stones along side the pond.

The original photos are all 2560*1920 pix. I reduced the size for the convenience of viewing. I didn't manipulate most of the photos with any application like gimp or photoshop, those whose brightness are reduced are commented( using the NikonEditor ).

brightness reduced.

brightness reduced.

My favourite in this album. Unmanipulated.

Beautiful waterlilies. A bit hard on the eyes after a while , have to tear one's gaze away after a while - too beautiful. Either that or it's the size of the pics.

If you have a bad day in October, have a slice of banana cream pie. And this tiny ad:
