i have installed tomcat 5.0. when i open the browser and enter the following http://localhost:8080 in the url a pop up opens up and it asks for user name and password.i have tried to enter many combinations of user name and password but i am unable to proceed further so i am unable to run any serlet programs.Help me out

Check the unames and pwds in tomcat-users.xml (usually in conf folder of your tomcat)
