List is an interface.But where is its implementation?

If you look at the javadocs for the java.util.List interface you can see "All Known Implementing classes" on top of the page (line 9). Every interface in the javadocs has this line (if any implementations are known of course).

ArrayList is a implementation.Check javadoc.In fact you can have your own implementation of List interface.
