Hi all,

just have a small question.
How far can i go using PHP and Java together?
Are there any limits?
Do i need special libs and such(on both sides)?
Are there any communication-interfaces for these languages that
hide some implementation problems (like struts do)?

Thank you

I suggest you to let them communicate by XML. PHP as well as Java have great XML support.

Or use some 3rd party stuff like http://php-java-bridge.sourceforge.net

What's the advantage of a combined approach versus using only Java?

The school wants us to make a project in PHP but i like Java more... so

I don't like XML, we took a look at Hibernate and Struts in school and the config via XML really sucked. So far i had only bad expiriences with XML and XSLT and DTD and whatever...

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
