Hi!
This is my first ever post on Javaranch. I studied Java way back in 1999 and I loved it, however I have been away from it ever since.
I have recently revived my interest and have started on it again. Since I was away for a long time and lots has changed since then, I have started at the very basic level. I was curious as to can I post ANY questions that I may have at the beginner's level???

Hi, and Welcome!

To answer your question, pretty much, yes. Any question can be posted here. That's not to say it won't be moved later... For example, if your question is more about how to set up Eclipse, it would probably be moved to the IDE forum, and so on. Just about any question on the language from a beginner is going to belong here.

oh, and the usual caveats apply about copwrite protected material. Cite your sources, give proper credit. Don't make requests for free copies of books, programs, etc. I'm sure you know all that.

You may want to check out the How To Ask Questions FAQ as well.
