Yahoo's LaunchCast Radio

Has anyone used LaunchCast Radio? It's built into Yahoo messenger.

Basically you can create a customized radio station by telling it which genre's, songs, artists you like by rating them 0*'s to 4*'s. Then it will randomly play those songs / artists as well as other stuff that's related to it (either because its by the same artist, in the same genre, or other people that like something you picked also liked this new song). And if it plays something you don't like -- you mark it with a 0 (aka "never play this again").

So --- I think its pretty good, and am actually thinking I might pay the $3.00/month to get LaunchCast Plus -- which also allows you to create "moods" -- like all your favorite oldies stuff, or jazz, or angry hard rock. And you can pick "influencers" so if a friend of yours has cool music taste -- you can have their likes influence what you listen to.

Anyway. Has anyone else used it? liked it? opinions? or found something else you liked better?

I used to use Launchcast years ago before they were bought by Yahoo and I loved it. However, after Yahoo took over I noticed a severe decrease in quality of service. Since then Launchcast and I have drifted apart and I have still not found a service that has lived up to my expectations. Maybe I should give LaunchCast another shot...

yeah give it a shot -- in Yahoo Messenger, you'll see that my status changes to whatever song I'm listening to. And you can click on it and will start listening to my own personal snazzy little station!

The sound quality is probably like a good radio signal. There are 10-20 second ads (mostly for LaunchCast Plus) every 6 or 7 songs -- a heck of a lot less ads than on radio / tv. So they don't really bother me.

Take a backup copy of urself before getting influenced.There is chance of NO-RETURN after getting influenced.Like windows restore point.Or registry backup.
