Creating DOC files is a bit tricky. How about creating a regular text file (which can be opened in Word if you really need to)?

Well, the console window is just plain text with no formatting. So it seems to me that creating a plain text file would be adequate for your needs. As Ulf says, you can certainly display a plain text file using Word if you like.
