It will suck... not much of a spoiler really, since everyone already knows it.

Ditto.

They went down the "kiddie" path in "Return of the Jedi" with the Ewoks and never turned back. Episodes 1 & 2 had superior special effects, but do not hold a candle to the real first two (4 & 5).

Well, let's see...

Anakin and Amadala get their groove on and she gets pregnant.
Obi-One beats the crap out of Anakin
Anakin finally puts on vader gear so we can stop looking at whimpy Haden
Yoda probably says something like: "Much anger in him I see, hmmm"

Wow, I summed up EIII in 4 sentences.

All kidding aside, George Lucas should allow someone else to write and direct his movies. He has lost his magic touch.

I've lost all hope that E3 will be any good at all.

1 & 2 were horrible and if I don't hear anything to pique my interest in 3 I probably won't bother to see it. Lucus so totally ruined what started out as a unique and interesting SciFi epic that I have lost almost all interest. Its too bad.

I think one of the key differences between the original trilogy and the new trilogy is that you dont really care for the characters in the new trilogy.

In the original trilogy, we didnt want Han or Luke or Leia to die. We felt bad when Obi-wan bought the farm.

In the new trilogy, we dont really care about the new characters. Especially Jar Jar Binks!

Im hoping that Episode III will be better than the previous two. I for one enjoyed episode 2, but something tells me that Episode III still wont match to the original trilogy.

Cmon Lucas I want big big BIG space battles!

If that script is accurate it looks like it will be a wicked film.

What!? no Ewoks! How could they!

... Also major DUH Mace Windu manages to piece together the Sith conspiracy and comes to the conclusion that Palpatine is evil.

Jedi knights can see the future, lift heavy things with their minds and manage to miss the obvious for two whole movies. I know, I know Palpatine clouded their minds or something.

The script does sound good. Hopefully they'll keep the PC and Public televison crowd out of it.

E-III actually has the potential to be the best out of the the 3 prequals. Simply because of everything that has to happen. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas messed it up. The story as a whole is awesome. Lucas just isn't telling it right in the movies. It's too corny, hokey, hollywoody, and childish.

Speak for yourself! I would have been just as happy if Han had bought it, maybe Leia too. And I felt bad when Obi-wan came back, the snivelling hypocrite. ("From a certain point of view", what hogwash.)

In the new trilogy, we dont really care about the new characters. Especially Jar Jar Binks!

Gotta agree about Jar Jar, though.

Oh, many of us do care about Jar Jar.

Not in a positive way, of course...

Gregg is right - Episode III has huge potential, plotwise, but at this point I don't trust in Lucas' ability to pull it off. If he does, great; I'll be pleasantly surprised. If not - well, I'm sure John Williams will do a good job as usual, and there will be lots of nice images. So time spent watching it won't be a total loss...

I think Peter Jackson should direct EIII. He did a great job with the Lord of the Rings. He struck a good balance, not allowing the special effects or violence to overwhelm the story or the acting. Hey! there's a novel idea... lets get people that can act for EIII!

I couldn't agree with you anymore. George Lucas has clearly lost his magical touch. Lucas' woes are evident in Episodes 1 and 2. Lucas should step aside and allow someone else, anyone else, to direct/write Ep III.

A side note, the new Star Wars Episode III The revenge of the sith trailer, will be shown next week with Disney's The Incredibles.
