If the solutions to those exercises are for sale, then that is a strong indication that they are copyrighted, and that it would be illegal to redistribute them. We do not condone that kind of behavior here on JavaRanch.

Ulf,

Just a general question.
I have no idea of the level of the questions of [a Java book]. I can imagine others have solved (some of) the questions themselves without buying the answers. Would it also be problem exchanging those?
The topic starter did ask for "solutions" and not "the solutions", so I assume is was asking for that.

Even if they are available, our general philosophy it to NOT hand out solutions to problems. We want people to learn java, to learn how to approach a problem, and how to trouble shoot it on their own.

We generally prefer the person post the problem, and post THEIR solution - or as much as they have. They should ask questions like "i was expecting THIS to happen, but THAT happened, and I don't know why" or "should i use a linked list or a map? I think a linked list for these reasons..."

many folks here will bend over backwards to help someone figure it out on their own, with small nudges here and there. But generally when I see someone saying "give me the answer", my first inclination is to just keep on moving.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
