Hi,

Thanks for the response, and i see the installer, but i don't see the correct version....does that matter, or can i download any version of jdk 5.0 as long as it's above version 8?

Thanks,

Frank

Welcome to JavaRanch, Frank. First, please check your private messages. You can see them by clicking My Profile.

Update versions of the JDK are only bugfix releases. So JDK 1.5.0_08 or 1.5.0_12 are both JDK 1.5.0, the latter one with more bugfixes - the API etc. is exactly the same.

So unless you have a special reason to need 1.5.0 update 8, you can just use the latest update version of 1.5.0 (which is update 12 at the moment). As far as I know, Sun doesn't provide the older update versions for download.
