Hi All,

I'm looking for projects I can work on to improve my java skills. More specifically, I'm looking for projects that are available for anyone and specifically designed for people that are looking to work in java development. The format of the project I'm looking for is kind of like a semester long java related project they have in college courses. So, I'm kind of looking for any project that ranges from simple to complex applications that could involve collections, sql, struts, etc. So, does anyone know of any website that might have a repository of projects I can work on and possibly contain solutions so I can compare my results? I know I can think of an idea and create my own application but that's not what I'm looking to do. Thanks.

[Bob Sou:]...a semester long java related project they have in college courses.

It has been my experience that college level work varies widely from one to the next. Very definetly: JavaRanch Cattle Drive - JDBC will provide an exact fit for your request. I see JDBC all over the Java literature and JDBC will provide sufficient depth to make an equivalent of a one-semester team project, see:

The Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)

on the Sun website. Do this while you are working at the Cattle Drive.

If you have any questions, come back and post.
