G'day folks -

This has been driving me nuts for the last week or so. Any help would be much appreciated.
My program works on one machine, but when I try to use it on the second machine, I get the following error :

java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not deserialize mySite: NewSite

I created a myprogram.war file, and placed it on the new machine. When I started Tomcat, it created the myprogram directory structure as it should. But, it still gives the same error. Why would it work on one machine and not another ? I thought that was the point of war files - deploying.

I haven't changed to code or anything.

What on earth does "Could not deserialize" mean ?

Oh yes -- I"m using Eclipse to create the WAR file - does that make a difference ?

Thanks folks. I'm not quite sure how to tackle this one.

This exception means there is a version of this class that has been serialized, either saved to a file or transmitted over the wire, and cannot be unserialized from that state. Likely because it cannot find the class, but there are other reasons too. If it's a different version of the class in question.

If you know exactly where in the code is causing this, or if you have a stack trace, you should post that (and use the code tags).
