Hi Gurus,

Sometimes when I compile certain programs, it says

Program_Name.java uses unchecked or unsafe operations.
Recompile with -Xlint:unchecked for details.

What is the meaning of this?

Regards

Suresh.

Most likely you are using a collection (List, Set, Map...) without generics.

The "lint" program is an old program which collects and prints details of warnings from compilers. -Xlint turns lint on.
