Does anyone know anything else that helps?
My girlfriend gets the same thing. Every time we fly she ends up in pain whenever the plane is landing. I find that yawning gets rid of the pressure build up, but for some freaky reason my girlfriend can't yawn. She ends up doing all sorts of things like pinching her nose and sucking on boiled sweets, but it doesn't seem to help much. As well as the pain aspect, it has another funny effect - for the next day after the flight she is almost deaf! While it can be annoying, it also means I can get away with my sarcastic comments and awful puns for once
