Hi,
When I am trying to set the path of jdk1.4 from tomcat, the following is happening. So I can not compile my servlet programs. Please, somebody help me.
******************************************************************
D:\Sandeep Mukherji\Servlet>set path=D:\Tomcat 5.0\bin;

D:\Sandeep Mukherji\Servlet>set path
Path=D:\Tomcat 5.0\bin;
path2=D:\jdk1.5.0_02
path3=D:\
path4=c:\jdk1.5.0_02\bin\Sandeep
PATHEXT=.COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WSF;.WSH

D:\Sandeep Mukherji\Servlet>javac -d./WEB-INF/classes *.java
'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

You will need to add D:\jdk1.5.0_02\bin to your path, this is where javac.exe resides.

Also, have you placed the servlet classes on your classpath? They are in install_dir\common\lib\servlet-api.jar.

hi Roger,

Thanks a lot. The problem is resolved now. Actually I was setting my classpath as set classpath=D:\Tomcat*\common\lib; instead of set classpath=D:\Tomcat 5.0\common\lib\servlet-api.jar. I thought * will do the rest. But it did not. Now it is working.
