Hi all ,
I am new to java but i have cosiderable programming experience with C and C++. I always go by the words of prophets Kernighan and Ritchie that in order to learn any programming language one _must_ program in it . I write this post so that people at javaranch can help me in finding good programming questions . I basically want coding questions that would require me to do a lot of coding in java and that would also test my java skills as i go through the language . Please note that by saying 'lot of coding' i'm not asking for mini projects . And i'm also not asking for multiple choice questions and questions where one is asked to analyse some code snippet - a lot of such stuff is available on the internet and certification books . I plan to follow the Dietel book ( Java How to program ) , cattle drive questions , questions from K&B book for certification and also questions of Head First Java by K&B again . All this stuff , although good , basically contains questions that anyone with minimal programming experience or average brains could do in a flash - though dietel exercises have some questions that require quality . So i basically want to do some programming ( like questions that require 1-2 page solution but not much more ) . Can anyone help me find such questions ? Please quote any online resources or book you know of . It might be anybook . I would not care to read the entire book but if the end of the chapter contain questions that i'm looking for , i am satisfied .
Thanking in anticipation . Vaib .

Welcome to JavaRanch.

Please do not post the same question to multiple forums: CarefullyChooseOneForum. I have deleted the other copies of this question.

Hi,

Just an idea, you could try to port your own C++ code to Java - so you could see the syntax differences and try to research and use as much Java API classes you can. Also, if you wrote it once in C++, you can select the difficulty level of the code.
