I am taking a class in school for JAVA Programming II. I have been asked in one of the homework assignments to draw a house using the ACM package. I created the code below and can get it to run fine if I do not add the GOval lines. When I run the .java file in the javac compiler in jdk1.6.0_07 I get the error

.\acm\graphics\GOval.java:461: cannot find symbol
symbol : class ArcRenderer
location: class acm.graphics.GOval
renderer = new ArcRenderer(this);

2 errors

I need to turn in this homework. Please help!

Welcome to JavaRanch!

Based on this API, it looks like you're using GOval correctly in the code you posted. So my guess is the error is either coming from a line of code that you haven't posted, or there's a bug in the GOval class.

Which line of your code is causing the error?

Marc,

I posted the whole file must be a bug. Do you know where I could download a older version file for the ACM package?

Marc,

Also It is the first line of the GOval that has the error.

This line...?

That looks okay to me.

I don't know anything about the acm packages. You might start digging at ACM Java Task Force page.
