Getting a book like Head First Java is also a good idea.

Do you like playing with computers and writing codes? Does coding seem like a chore, or is it a fun thing to do?

If it's fun, you'd probably be interested to learn. If everytime you think of coding, you start groaning, then probably it'll be a little bit tougher to learn.

You have to love, or at least like what you're learning. Then the interest will come naturally. But sometimes the interest will come later. You might not like it at first, but the more you get to know it, the more you'll come to like it. It happens like that too. You have to feel if Java 'speaks' to you. :-)

So, I guess, you just have to try it out. You 'might' like it. It's a pretty interesting language. Once you know what you're doing, it's easy (that's what I keep telling myself actually). The hardest part is while learning the ropes. (I think~).

I hope I've not misunderstood your question. :-)

Doesn't look like trolling to me. It doesn't look like a stupid question either.

Have you coded in any other language before?
It might be a good idea to take some program you have already successfully coded, and try to convert it in Java.
Start with small programs (best way to get your basics straight) and keep on building on it.

Best of luck.
