Hello everyone,

I can say i am not very new to java. I am somewhere between who is not very new to this language to intermediate level, but my concepts are also not mighty clear.

I was looking to buy books on Java. I already have read Head First Java

This is my book list:
1. Core Java 1 --- 8th edition
2. Thinking in Java -- 4th edition
3. Just Java 2 - 6th edition by Peter
4. Complete Reference - Herbert 7th edition
5. Java How to program - Dietel 7th edition
6. Java in a Nutshell - 5th edition

Money is not a criteria.
I want to buy atleast 2 books.
Core Java 1 is my top choice.

I am confused about the second book..
Which would you buy ??
Any 1 out here who has read both Thinking in Java and Just Java 2.. Which is the better of two ??
I read a lot of reviews on Amazon(4 star for TIJ and 4.5 for JJ2), bunkhouse(both have 9 on 10 rating) .. very little seperates them.

I did like what i say of Java How to program but its new edition is going to come out next year.. So wouldn't like to buy that 1 atleast for now..

Thank you

I'd go for Horstmann and Cornell.
There is not that much difference between Deitel and Deitel 6th and 7th editions; if you want Deitel and Deitel buy the 6th edition second-hand.
Beware of books which simply repeat what you can read free in the API documentation.
