Hey, what do you do if you are the only woman in your team, and the other just seem to ignore you and underestimate you and don't want yo give you much significance and try to get the routine and boring work done by you and just forget to keep you updated of whats happening in the project.

Looks like this is male domination issue. Discuss with those guys and find out why they are behaving like that. Or else finally escalte the issue to your reporting manager. Be in the same team and prove urself.

Maybe its me....

Why do you have to prove it to them ?
You need to prove things to yourself, not for others. Its not like they are your one and only 'mother-of-all' family. If you are interested (I mean die-hard) fan of that team and that project/work, ya then you will have to work with them (a.k.a. prove to them). If not, look for something else and move on with your life. If I were you I wouldn't waste my time proving myself to those bone-heads. Ofcourse, a lot depends on your personal responsibilities. You can't make one-sided decisions in such issues without considering your personal responsibilities - married, kids, moving things of that nature.
My two cents....

ps:
Just remember, when you post something like this in a public forum, you will get a lot of ideas and more so, contradicting ideas. So, make your decision based on what you know/experience.
