The London Development Agency (LDA) has launched a competition to name its new state-of-the-art footbridge in Wembley.

The footbridge will help link the new National Stadium to the town centre and is part of the Agencys investment of more than 85m in the area. It has been designed by the architects of the London Eye, Marks Barfield, and will open out onto a new square just a few hundred metres from the stadium.

Have your say on what to call the bridge by stating what you think is the most significant name or event in Wembley Stadiums history. Youll then go in the draw to win a signed England football shirt. Nominations end 15 March 2005.

The best idea is to enter the name of the guy who shot the last goal in this stadium:
So how about "Dietmar-Hamann Bridge"?
Give me a favour and please enter this value in the little field in the middle.

It was a wonderfull shot from 30 meters in a world cup qualifier match
England - Germany (0:1). One of the few matches against our national team the english did actually loose in normal time. Normally they lost because allways forgetting to train some penalty shooting before semi-finals

The fellow Englishmen will love it.

Germans usually win through blatant use of the Schwalbe and other uncouth moves, not by playing a proper game of gentlemanly sports

I much prefer the idea of naming it after "Slim" Jim Baxter. After all he is already listed as a Wembley Legend.
