custom tag and getAttribute

I have written my first custom tag and it all works fine if i type


the problems come when i try and pass a session attribute to it.

sorry i know this is just syntax but my tutorial stopped before it got to anything like this

sorry, it was a compile error, so i thought the error would be glaringly obvious to someone who knew...

Hi,
The custom tag "satable" is having searchstring attribute which is taking "jsp expression", for the taht you need to define in the TLD of this tag attribute value "rtexprvalue=true" as shown below..

<attribute>
<name>value</name>
<required>false/false</required>
<rtexprvalue>true</rtexprvalue>
</attribute>

I think i got your question correctly
