Hi,

Portal is a web based application that commonly provide personalization, single sign on, content aggregation from different sources and hosts the presentation layer of Information Systems.Aggregation is nothing but integrating content from defferent sources with in web page.portal page may have different portlets. Portlet is nothing but a web based component managed by portlet container.
