Battery life
I have decided to get a better mobile phone, one what does run out of battery power. Half of the sale assistant could not tell me the batteries life of the available telephones. Some of the brochure didnt specify the battery life either ;I guess that battery life does not rate to highly if you got polymorphic ringtons that make frog noises when the phone rings or the support for java games and a camera that cannot be use for video conference, a possible useful feature.

The same goes for laptops; after years of advances improved chip and batteries technology I get laptops that are faster with DVD-Rom drives that drain more power so that its battery life is no better then older models and so they can charge you for those features

Isnt there a market for a laptop with a good-sized keyboard and screen that allow you to surf the net and to use Microsoft Word without worrying about a power supply every 2 and half hours. Or do only powerusers use them for powerful graphic 3D and photo manipulation and stuff that is impossible with Pentium 300 computer or seven your old technology

Actually, if you use amazon.com, you can find out the battery life's of phones, also you can check ou the phone manufacturer's websites, they have better information including the J2ME API that they support etc.

As far as Laptops, the new Intel Centrino chip is build to make batteries last longer. But no matter what getting a second battery for a laptop is almost a necessity. Simply because even if the battery lasts twice as long as previous versions, you will get used to that time period, then grow impatient for even longer. It happens to all of us. We always want more.
