so finally Hollywood have decided to take on yet another literary classic - will it be a quality job inspiring a new generation of enthusiasm for Douglas Adams - or will it be a shameless 'hack' job?....

The trailer was just shown during a commercial break during the NCAA Final. The movie looks interesting.

Interesting yes - but will it work as well as the 70's radio series of the 80's TV series?

Cast looks good:
Steven Fry seems to fit well as the voice of the book
Martin Freeman seems like he can do a pretty good job as the straight, but confused man - so he should be able to be a reasonable Arthur.
Alan Rickman is a perfect Marvin!

I just hope it stands up to the rigours of comparison! Either way it'll surely be one of the biggest movies of the year!

Ah, wonderful stuff. I wrote an IM tool for the mainframe once with a macro for "You are the least benightedly unintelligent lifeform it has been my extreme displeasure to be unable to avoid meeting."

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
