ALTER TABLE - regarding

I get the below exception during ALTER TABLE statement

SQL0109N ALTER TABLE "<>" specified attributes for column "" that are not compatible with the existing column. SQLSTATE=42837.

I tried a google and didnt get any useful information - or perhaps i was unable to interpret the information suitably. Any reason why this exception occurs during the ALTER table statement.

Datatbase: DB2 on z/OS.

Can you please post your current table structure and your ALTER TABLE sql statement, that way people will be able to see the problem if any.
